The Hoosier State got its first online sportsbook in the midst of the 2019 NFL season, with the launch of BetRivers in October. The product is made possible by a partnership between BetRivers’ parent company, Rush Street Interactive (RSI), and South Indiana’s French Lick Resort.
Before venturing into IN, Rush Street had already launched online books in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Just as in other states, we think that gamblers will delight in BetRivers’ IN offering, which features a best-in-class loyalty program, an extremely valuable and easy to clear bonus, and a fun social environment. The sportsbook is not without its flaws, though. We have noticed that pricing is mediorce in spots, and we would love to see a native iOS app.
Let’s dive in and break down all that BetRivers Indiana has to offer.
BetRivers Indiana welcome bonus – January 2020
We have struck a partnership with BetRivers IN to offer our readers a fantastic 100% match on their first deposit up to $250. All you need to do is click on any of the links on this page, or use the promo code below when signing up to receive your bonus. BetRivers’ welcome bonus is, frankly, a stellar offer, and one that you shouldn’t pass up.

Breaking down the bonus
After entering your personal info to complete the sign-up process, you’ll be ready to make your first deposit. While you can kick in as much money as allowed by your preferred deposit method, only up to $250 of that amount will count towards your initial match bonus.
That means if you deposited $100, you would receive $100 in your bonus account. Alternatively, if you deposited $300, you would only receive $250 in bonus money.
Once you have made your deposit, you’ll see your bonus funds in your wallet, but you won’t be able to withdraw the extra cash immediately. Fortunately, clearing the BetRivers bonus is a snap, and only requires you to bet the total amount of your bonus one time over. So, if you deposit $200, you’ll receive a $200 bonus for total of $400 in your account. To cash out your $200 bonus, simply place wagers which total $200 and the bonus money will be free and clear to withdraw.
To get started clearing your bonus, you’ll need to activate it first. Once you do, be aware that you’ll have 30 days to complete the wager requirement, which shouldn’t be a problem since it is set so low.
Compared with competitors, this is an excellent, easy-to-understand offer which provides significant value.
Why play at BetRivers online sportsbook Indiana
- Unique rewards system: Some sportsbooks don’t even bother with loyalty programs, but not so in the case of BetRivers. In fact, the operator boasts what we think is the most creative and rewarding of all gambling loyalty structures in the country. The system ensures that even when you lose, you still earn something.
- Non-stop action: BetRivers wagering selection spans over a dozen sports, with events playing out 24/7, meaning that you’ll be able to find action no matter what time of the day it is.
- Dead simple welcome offer: As we highlighted above, BetRivers doesn’t try to confuse gamblers with convoluted terms and conditions when it comes to its new-player bonus. Unlike some competitors, which offer difficult to understand Free Bets or Risk-Free Wagers, BetRivers’ offer is a simple 100% match which requires a surprisingly low 1X play through.
Special promos and offers
While a lot of the added value at BetRivers is wrapped up in the site’s stellar loyalty program (described below) and initial deposit bonus, the book still strives to give even more value in the form of one-off and ongoing promotions
With the industry still in its infancy in Indiana, promos are few and far between at the site. Inevitably, that will change as the operator matures in the state.
For the time being, BetRivers players can enjoy Daily Odds Boosts on hand-picked events or bets, which offer odds that are much more lucrative for users than they actually should be. For example, instead of getting +150 for a certain type of wager, the book may offer a +200 payout, meaning a $100 bet would return $50 more than it would normally. Many of the boosts are centered around your favorite Indiana teams.
In the future, we’re likely to see even varieties of promos, like deposit reload bonuses and juice-free bets. We also expect to see VIPs shown the red carpet through the site’s exclusive VIP promotional calendar, which is bound to contain an assortment of value offers, whether they be free bets, sweepstakes, giveaways, or something special.
BetRivers IN Loyalty program
One of the main reasons we suggest taking your play to BetRivers is the site’s fantastic iRush Rewards loyalty program. The system was pioneered by BetRivers sister site Play SugarHouse in New Jersey, and later ported to all of Rush Street Interactive’s U.S. online casino and sportsbook sites.
Before iRush Rewards, U.S. iGaming sites didn’t put much thought into loyalty programs, mostly allowing players to earn points which they could exchange for cash or bonuses. iRush, on the other hand, ups the ante by providing a much more fun and valuable experience, giving gamblers the chance to earn an array of different awards, including:
- Dedicated VIP managers
- Special promo calendars
- Birthday gifts
- Access to VIP events
- Luxury gifts and VIP dinners
- Free tablets and smart phones
- Dedicated concierge
To start earning rewards, simply start placing real money bets on the site. When you do, you’ll earn two types of points: Loyalty Level Points and Bonus Store Points. The former raises your loyalty level, which serves to unlock increasingly attractive rewards, while the latter is used to buy things.
Both point types are earned at the same rate, with the earn rate determined based on the bet type, with singles awarding 1 pt per $10 bet, two-leggers 1 pt per $9 wagers, sliding down all the way to 1 pt per $1 wagers on ten-leggers plus. All loyalty points earned within 30 days count toward a players Tier, and those earned 31-60 days ago are calculated on a sliding scale. This rolling 60-day window is unprecedented in an industry where most sites only count wagers made during a calandar month toward a player’s tier.
There are 10 total Tiers, with one additional Tier for the highest volume players, called Elite, which is invite only. The first Tier will give you access to the Bonus Store, with later Tiers unlocking awards like the dedicated VIP manager and special gifts mentioned above. For perspective, to become a VIP, players must reach level 7, needing 5,200 Tier points. That works out to $52,000 in singles wagers during the alotted time frame, which isn’t too bad considering the rewards. Players that enjoy long-shot parlays can reach level 7 for a fraction of the wagers.
While you play, you will also be earning Bonus Store Points, which are the currency you’ll use in the bonus store to “purchase” things like 1X play through bonuses or Prize Wheel spins, with randomized rewards.
BetRivers makes it easy to check your loyalty level progress with a progress bar that is visible at all times while signed in.
Available software platforms
At BetRivers Indiana, you won’t be tied down to your desktop or laptop computer when you want to place a wager. Apart from being available via all of today’s popular web browsers, you can access the site from your iOS or Android mobile devices.
Fortunately, unlike other more restrictive states, Indiana sports bettors don’t need to travel to a physical casino in order to set up their accounts. You can sign up from anywhere in the world, but can only play if you are physically inside the Hoosier State.
To view everything BetRivers has to offer, just head over to the operator’s full website on your PC or Mac. Here you’ll see a listing of all sports offered along the left side, with a continuously scrolling real-time feed of recent winners on the right side. In the middle of the page, you’ll find all your betting options, laid out cleanly, with live and upcoming events listed first.
From a market page, players can view the top-line bets for upcoming games (point spreads, totals, etc.) within that market. They can also navigate to the futures menu from this page. Click on a game to dig deeper, with tons of alternate lines, game and player props found below the surface. It’s all neatly categorized and intuitive, which is impressive given the sheer number of wagers BetRivers offers.
Once you select a wager it’ll pop up on the sleekly designed Bet Slip. From there, players can choose whether they want to keep their bets seperate, or link them together via parlays or round robins. Payouts and odds are clearly made clearly visible, and for parlays, the Teaser+ option will display if available. Once a bet is entered, players will be informed if it is accepted at full value or reduced stakes. Additionally, if the line changes, the bettor will be informed, and the wager will not be placed. We did experience some frustrations with live betting, often not getting the price we wanted due to server hangtime.
Also, the Bet Slip does partially obstruct the main betting board on desktop, but not so much that players can’t easily view both in tandem. Different story on mobile, where the screen real estate only allows players to view one or the other.
Speaking of mobile, BetRivers has you covered there – it currently offers a dedicated Android app, which can be downloaded directly through the BetRivers website.
iOS users will have to put in a little extra effort, however, due to restrictions Apple has levied on legal gambling apps. For the time being, iPhone and iPad owners can still play on their mobile devices, but will need to use a workaround, which involves installing a separate geolocation app, then accessing the website directly through the device’s mobile browser. Eventually, we expect BetRivers to comply with Apple’s new rules and release an app similar to its Android offering.
Banking at BetRivers Indiana
BetRivers was the first sportsbook to launch in Indiana, and the industry is still getting its footing, but already the company is offering quite a nice list of deposit options.
Here are the ways in which you can load your account in Indiana currently:
- Online Banking Transfer (ACH): Without a doubt the best way to deposit and withdraw, if your bank is listed as one of the options.
- BetRivers Play+ Card: Deposit money onto a physical or virtual Play+ Card using credit cards or your checking account. This method is useful if your credit card deposits are rejected by your bank.
- Visa/MasterCard credit and debit: Use your credit or debit cards to load up money on the site. Note that some banks are skittish about processing online gambling payments, even though the industry is completely legal.
- Pay With Cash: Take cash to your local 7-Eleven convenience store and you will receive a slip with a confirmation code. Enter the code when you access your account and you will see the funds in your wallet.
- PayPal: The ever popular e-wallet can now be used to load up your BetRivers account.
- Wire transfer: If the above methods don’t work for you, you can always initiate a wire transfer from your bank account directly to the website.
As for withdrawals, here’s what’s available:
- Online banking (ACH)
- Play+ Card
- Paper check by mail
The BetRivers sportsbook platform was built in-house by Rush Street Interactive, but it has partnered with sports tech provider Kambi to provide the odds. Kambi works not only with RSI properties like BetRivers, but also with several other online sportsbooks in other legal sports betting states.
It should be noted that Kambi does allow operators to set their own pricing, so value does vary from Kambi site to Kambi site.
Lines on BetRivers Indiana are similar to those found on BetRivers’ sister Pennsylvania site, and on DraftKings Sportsbook (also powered by Kambi). However, we have noticed some discrepancies. While in some instances lines are slightly more favorable in Indiana, in other sports, Indiana prices are not quite as good.
For example, looking at college football matchups, we noticed that in many cases, while the spread and totals were the same on BetRivers PA and IN, money line odds were a bit worse for players than those in the Keystone State. Case in point: In an Auburn versus Arkansas contest, PA players were getting +650 on the Arkansas money line, while IN players got just +600. This came as a huge surprise, as Indiana offers a much more favorable operational structure for online sportsbooks than Pennsylvania.
- NFL games mostly offer the standard -110/-110 point spreads and totals with the odd -112/-109 or -121/-103 type line mixed in.
- 21+ cent lines were common for NBA, where 20 cents is the norm, making BetRivers sort of a lower tier sportsbook for this market.
- In-game pricing was mediocre at best, nearly across the board, but no worse than what was found on DraftKings.
- Two- and three-leg parlay pricing was solid and above industry averages.
- Teaser pricing is great. Kambi sites incorporate an innovation called Teaser+, where individual game pricing via alternative spreads are used as the bases of payouts, and not parlay pricing. This works out to be a better deal for the customer.
Indiana sports bettors have their pick of upwards of 15 sports on BetRivers, which run the gamut from boxing to UFC to darts. Of course, all the major sports and leagues are represented, including NFL, MLB, NHL and of course, the NBA. But BetRivers has no problem digging much deeper, with wagers on Euroleague B-ball games, KHL hockey games, and Canadian Football League all well-represented.
Admittedly, BetRivers Indiana does feature a few less options than its counterpart in Pennsylvania, but that is likely because state regulators haven’t approved as many sports for betting. Hopefully the list will continue to grow, but in the meantime, Snooker fans will have to wait.
Apart from football, baseball, hockey and basketball, BetRivers offers betting on:
- Olympic Games
- Rugby Union
Those who have never bet sports online might be shocked at the range of wagering options on the table at BetRivers. All the most popular and well-known bets are available (i.e. money line, totals, spreads, parlays, etc.), but a huge selection of prop bets and a few more exotic-type wagers await as well.
For example, drilling down into specific NFL matchups you’ll find dozens, if not hundreds of wagers touching on all aspects of the game. Want to bet on how many sacks the home team will make? There’s a bet for that. Think that a specific player will make the first touchdown in the game? There’s a wager for that too.
And the fun doesn’t stop when the game begins. You can continue to bet on the game depending on how things play out by making in-game wagers. This is something that is very hard to do at land-based sportsbooks, since the information changes so quickly. Websites and mobile devices, however, are perfectly suited for these types of bets.
BetRivers also offers a unique betting option called a Jackpot Parlay. As you probably know, parlays are essentially longshot bets that rarely pay out, but pay out big when they do hit. Jackpot parlays are similar to Quick Pick lottery tickets. Simply click the Jackpot Parlay tab and a prefilled bet slip will be presented to you. Betting one or two dollars could yield a return of hundreds of thousands of dollars in the off chance that all of the picks hit their target.
One other notable nuance is Teaser+, which function like traditional teasers, but use alternative line pricing as a base, instead of parlays. These are currently only available for select NFL (6-7 points) and NBA games (4-5 games), although at times, we couldn’t find any Teaser+ for NBA.
Early cash outs are also available, where players can withdraw their pregame wager at in-game prices (minus the juice of course). This is also only available for select games and markets.
About the French Lick Resort land-based sportsbook
While the company behind BetRivers operates several casinos throughout the Northeast, it doesn’t have a presence in Indiana. The operator is able to run its online book in the state due to a partnership it struck with French Lick Resort.
After sports betting was legalized in IN, French Lick built its own brick-and-mortar sportsbook, opening up to the public in September 2019. The book, which uses the same technology providers that power BetRivers, spans 3,000 feet and boasts seating for 100 guests. It features state-of-the-art LED video walls, self-serve betting kiosks and staffed betting windows.
