GAN Receives Temporary Supplier License For FanDuel Partnership

Business-to-business online gambling software/services firm GAN plc announced Wednesday its entry into the Hoosier State’s nascent online/mobile sports betting industry.

GAN, based out of the United Kingdom, said it has received a temporary supplier license from the Indiana Gaming Commission, marking the third state where it has received a gaming-related license. The other two are Pennsylvania and New Jersey. GAN is partnered with FanDuel in the Hoosier State. In order for FanDuel to access the Indiana market, its fourth state, it partnered with a pair of Boyd Gaming casinos.

GAN and FanDuel launched an internet sports betting product together in the Garden State in 2018. FanDuel was GAN’s first U.S. client to operate mobile sports betting via the GAN Platform.

FanDuel-branded retail sportsbooks opened last month, with the online/mobile platform launching on Tuesday, following launches from BetRivers and DraftKings earlier this month.

GAN provides player account services for FanDuel, the presser stated. GAN’s products/offerings include marketing and customer service solutions for online gaming platforms.

From its website: “GAN’s customer service teams, operating out of London and Las Vegas, provide 24/7 email support, email and chat support, or email, chat and phone support. GAN is the only provider to offer live video chat support to VIP players in both the social and real-money gaming spaces.”

GAN also offers a “full turnkey digital agency” for an online gambling platform’s marketing needs.

Indiana license

The IGC hasn’t updated its official list of firms licensed for involvement in the sports wagering industry to include GAN, but the company said in the presser that it has the green light.

“GAN confirms the receipt of a temporary supplier license from the Indiana Gaming Commission,” the presser said, “demonstrating GAN’s continuing ability to rapidly submit to licensure in highly regulated U.S. internet gambling markets. This is GAN’s second gaming license awarded in 2019 and third U.S. gaming license, following licensure in the state of New Jersey and the state of Pennsylvania.”

Dermot Smurfit, Chief Executive Officer of GAN commented:

“Our effective and compliant platform represents a premium component of the supply chain and our team has a track record of on-time delivery for our long-standing client FanDuel, which has proven to be an exceptionally successful partnership to date in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Rapid deployment into the state of Indiana is a logical extension of our relationship to best support FanDuel in capturing early market share of internet sports betting in Indiana.”

FanDuel is the sports betting market leader in New Jersey.
